Love stories happen when two people like each other. In this story, however, two people fall in love who have come together for all the wrong reasons.

A boy who does not understand the meaning of love, but wants to acquire what he desires and a girl who is helpless and can save herself and her family only by giving into his demands. This story is based in a small town of Allahabad, where the smallest thing happening in one’s house is known to everyone. People here, especially women, lead a very careful life. Men openly dominate the house, college and society and nobody complains about it. They have accepted it as a part of life and try to find happiness in the margins.

The Saxena family, however, is different. Though they are traditional, they believe in educating their daughters without any hesitation. Pratigya and Arushi consider themselves lucky to be born into this family. Their father has left no stone unturned to ensure that his daughters have the same education as his son, despite social pressure. They are a close knit family.

Like every girl, Pratigya also goes out with friends, unaware that one of the local goons, Krishna, has developed a liking towards her. Krishna is an unrefined boy who loiters around the town with a couple of his friends, being a nuisance. Krishna has desired Pratigya since he has set eyes on her. His friends also have started considering Pratigya their Bhabhi.

On the other hand, Krishna doesn’t even exist for Pratigya. She is unaware of the trouble Krishna creates for others if they are unkind or extra nice to her. Krishna, however, is convinced that Pratigya's life is his business. His obsession towards her quickly gets noticed and her family decides to get Pratigya married soon and Pratigya also willingly agrees to it.

What will happen when Krishna finds out that Pratigya is marrying someone else?

She is a beautiful girl who loves helping her mother at home. Pratigya feels very lucky that her family allowed her to complete her education, unlike her other friends. She returns to Allahabad after completing her graduation and agrees to get engaged to a boy her family has selected for her.

Krishna
Don’t go by his arrogant, rough-around-the-edges exterior! Deep down, he is a good person. And madly in love with his wife. Krishna considers himself lucky to be born in a family where he has everything. With his father’s support and brother’s encouragement, Krishna didn’t pursue his studies after class five. He doesn’t regret it either, as he feels that he has everything. His mentality towards women is the same as his that of his father and brother. He feels that women are mere objects of pleasure and comfort. He thinks that as long as one gives women food, he can treat them any way he wants. He has never seen his mother or his bhabhi object to it, and expects the same from his wife. He feels that he is romantic and nobody can love the way he does. He feels that if he loved anyone and married her, then she should feel grateful and worship him. He believes that anything he does for Pratigya, be it threatening people and sending her love notes, it is because he loves her.

Shyamji
A professor by profession, Shyamji Saxena is looked up to with a lot of respect. Everybody in town knows him for his principles and righteousness. She loves her grandson more than anybody and takes full credit for his upbringing. She has a sharp tongue and is always complaining about something or the other.

Adarsh
The eldest child, Adarsh is a very simple boy. He adores his family and never goes against their will. He works in a bank and is happy that he can contribute to the family and lessen his father's burden. He has taken the responsibility of getting his sister married. He is an introvert and finds it difficult to express his feelings openly. He is very protective about his sisters but always supports them as far as education is concerned. He doesn’t believe in raising his voice or hand. He prefers to be quiet and aloof if something troubles him. Adarsh is an ideal son and a good brother.

Aarushi
The youngest in the family, Aarushi is very romantic. She feels love is a fairy tale and everything is fair in love. She treats Pratigya more like a friend than an older sister.

Cast:

Akshara
Akshara's world consists of her husband, Naitik, her in-laws and her determination to do everything possible to make her loved ones happy! She's just a simple, educated girl from a traditional family and she believes in turning every situation into a positive, fulfilling one. She is naive yet adaptable to change and has adjusted well to her circumstances. She firmly believes that family values and tradition go hand-in-hand with being broad minded. She helps her sister-in-law realize her love even though love marriage is taboo in the family. She is a daughter to her in-laws, who loves her own family but has learned to give priority to her in-laws out of duty.

Naitik
He is pampered - and not ashamed of it! He is the much-loved son of the Singhania family. Naitik loves his family and is rooted in tradition. He is discovering love after marriage! Though he has a sensitive soul and never hurts anyone, there is a certain pride in him for being born a boy! Male chauvinistic to a certain extent, he feels that men are privileged by birth and women are supposed to understand this. His journey helps him learn to love and admire his young bride despite the fact that she does not fulfil his fancy of his ideal woman.

Daddaji
He is the eldest brother of the family. After the sudden demise of his parents, he took upon himself the onus of taking care of his brothers, educating them and settling them in life. As a result he could not study much and does not hold a degree. He took care of the family business of jewels/diamonds and ran it with the help of his traditional wisdom. However, later when Raj Shekhar and Chiraag grew up with degrees, he withdrew a little and let them handle the business. Though he sits at the honourable chairperson’s position in the company and no decision is ever taken without consulting him, he has given Raj Shekhar all the powers to run the business his way.

Kaaveri
Fondly called Bhabhi Maa by everyone in the house, Kaaveri is Mahendra Pratap’s wife. There is a big age difference between them. Kaaveri came to this house at the tender age of 15 and had to immediately assume the responsibility of mothering Mahendra Pratap’s kid brothers. She brought them up with affection and selfless love and even searched and got the best wives for the two. She is the most selfless woman who has always found happiness in tending to her family members and seeing a smile of satisfaction on their faces. The only times she gets into bouts of depression and mood swings is when it concerns her daughter, Nandini, who is afflicted by Polio and hence still unmarried at the age of thirty.

Nandini
Nandini is Mahendra Pratap’s and Kaveri’s only daughter and also the first born of the family. A gregarious and lively girl in her childhood, her right leg got afflicted by polio at the tender age of six and since then she is either on crutches or bound on wheelchair. The magical world of books and stories always inspired her and she eventually wanted to become a novelist. However, thanks to the conservative household she was born in, her father thought it was inappropriate for her to study further as it would be a hurdle in her marriage. Hence she was forced to quit studies and was made to go through repeated and horrendous rounds of meeting prospective grooms one after the other and getting rejected repeatedly. While others sympathised with her and thought that finding the right groom for her was the only solution to end her misery, only Raj Shekhar could see the irony of the situation.

Raj Banna
Raj Shekhar is the second born son of the family. He was barely seven years old when his parents passed away, and ten years old when Bhabhi Maa came to this house as a bride. He vividly remembers how Mahendra Pratap sacrificed everything, including his college education, for the sake of his younger brothers and how Bhabhi Maa never let them feel the absence of a mother. An educated and learned man himself, at times he does not totally agree with the strict rules and regulations imposed by his brother but follows his orders nonetheless. Gayatri proved to be a good wife and an understanding partner to him.

Gayatri
Gayatri came as the second bahu of the house. Though a positive soul at heart and a good human being, she soon faced an identity crisis as a woman when she saw that everything in the house was centred around Bhabhi Maa. She also realised that the only way to get a little ahead of Bhabhi Maa in this house is to gain brownie points from Mahendra Pratap. God dropped this opportunity in her lap as she was blessed with a son, an heir, for whom Mahendra Pratap was pining. Hence Gayatri got more importance simply by being the mother of a son, something that Bhabhi Maa could never be!

Rashmi
Rashmi is Naitik's younger sister. She is a typical dreamy eyed teenager who lives and breathes Yash Chopra movies. Everything in her life is filmy, all the situations are melodramatic. A little impractical and frivolous, she is a perfect antidote to her elder sister Nandini, who has lost hopes in life

Vishambhar
Conservative but loving, Vishambhar is the head of the Maheshwari family. He loves his family and will do anything to protect the interest of his children Akshara and Shaurya. Sometimes strict but ultimately understanding, Vishambhar is like a coconut, tough from outside and soft inside.

Rajshri
Akshara’s mother, Rajshri is a simple housewife who worries about her children and her household all the time. Rajshri panics at the slightest hint of trouble and is very coy and demure. Highly emotional and vulnerable, Rajshri loves her daughter Akshara more than anything and it breaks her heart when she cries.

Hashim Amla score a triple century|England v South Africa Test match

England v South Africa Test match

Hashim Amla became the first South African Batsman to score a triple century score, leaving England facing an uphill task to save the first Test at The Kia Oval.

Hashim Amla posted the highest Test score by a South African as the Proteas took huge strides towards a series-opening victory on day four of the first Test against a beleaguered England .

Amla struck a majestic 311 not out - sharing a record unbroken 377-run partnership with Jacques Kallis (182no) for the third wicket - to become the first triple-centurion from South Africa, who eventually declared at tea on 637-2 with a first-innings lead of 252.

South Africa enjoyed the type of day teams dream of which ended with England staggering on 102 for 4 after being overwhelmed by the insatiable hunger of two batsmen. Hashim Amla scored the country's first triple century in Tests, building an overwhelming stand of 377 with Jacques Kallis, as South Africa amassed a lead of 252. The visitors then made major inroads into a dispirited England side who lurched to the close with a huge task ahead to leave The Oval with the series level.

The first two sessions of the day were filled with Amla and Kallis earning themselves a place in the record books. Mostly those honours belonged to Amla who, after overtaking AB de Villiers' 278 as South Africa's highest innings, reached his triple century with a drive which brushed the fingers of a leaping fielder at cover. He barely put a foot wrong and looked as though he could have gone past Brian Lara's 400 if the opportunity had presented itself.

However, South Africa had a Test match to win. Graeme Smith surprised most people at the ground when he declared at tea, rather than giving England's footsore bowlers and fielders another half an hour of drip-drip agony. Smith, though, knew his team were in an impregnable position and it was a show of attacking intent from the captain.

Apart from a period on the first day, Smith has had a wonderful Test both with the bat and in the field, and his decision soon brought rich rewards. By the close Ian Bell and Ravi Bopara were clinging on, still facing a deficit of 150. An escape here would match anything achieved at Cardiff or Cape Town.

With the eighth ball of the innings Vernon Philander - who again shared the new ball with Morne Morkel - found Alastair Cook's outside edge with ball that nipped away to bring the first wicket of the day. By the 11th over, South Africa had as many wickets as England managed in 188 when Jonathan Trott, for the second time in the match, nibbled outside off stump when he could have left the ball. That gave Dale Steyn his first wicket after he had been brought into the attack much sooner than in the first innings.

Kevin Pietersen's brief stay in the middle was not one of his finest moments. A feature of how South Africa batted was that they were willing to give periods of time to the bowlers, but Pietersen wanted to impose himself from the start. When that method comes off it thrills; when it does not it will invite criticism.

Pietersen played two well-timed pulls, one in front and one behind square, but also top-edged another over the keeper. He was then dropped at slip by Kallis when he flapped at a short delivery from Morkel and in his next over Pietersen managed to miss what was basically a straight ball as he was caught on the crease.

The early breakthroughs made life much less pressurised for Imran Tahir and he proceeded to work over Andrew Strauss with a classy over from round the wicket. He located the footmarks to make one delivery spit and also skidded one past the outside edge. Then, in a flashback to England's problems in UAE, Strauss was drawn into sweeping a wide delivery and the resulting top edge looped to square leg. Strauss had turned in disgust before the catch had been taken. This was not the first time an England captain had been humbled by a Smith-led team.

This was the same pitch that, a few hours earlier, had produced a scoreboard that read 637 for 2. Amla and Kallis firstly ensured they played themselves in as Smith and Amla had done 24 hours previously. The first hour brought just 36 runs, but each demoralising over England spent in the field meant it was less likely they would be able to quell the onslaught once South Africa decided to switch gear. The second half of the session saw 75 runs added and a further 123 came between lunch and tea even without it feeling the batsmen went quite into top gear.

Amla's innings was a display of unyielding concentration and determination, yet he rarely lost his graceful touch until he became a little tense in the 290s. His driving continued to be the stand-out feature of the innings and even when England packed the off side he would calmly and carefully pierce the gaps with regularity.

Kallis, who began the day on 80, batted at his own pace and reached his hundred from 227 deliveries with a glide to third man and immediately pointed to his eye, a clear reference to his team-mate, and close friend, Mark Boucher who was forced to retire early in the tour. The incident shook Kallis badly, but like many of the greatest sportsman he has channelled his emotions to the benefit of his team.

It was also, notably, his first Test hundred in England since Old Trafford in 1998. This will be his final Test tour to the country and he appears determined to at least go some way to narrowing the gap between his record here and everywhere else. His partnership with Amla, to follow the 259 for the second wicket, was the highest third-wicket stand against England by anyone and meant it was the first time they had conceded two 250-run stands in the same innings.

It was a sobering experience for the England attack. When James Anderson managed to swing a delivery with the third new ball past Amla's edge the crowd gave him a warm round of applause. Early in the afternoon session all England's frontline bowers went past their centuries, Stuart Broad completing the set when he was driven for three boundaries by Kallis who took the lead in upping the scoring rate while Amla focussed on his triple hundred.

Broad had been off-colour throughout the innings and operated at no more than medium pace on the fourth day. Although that could partly be put down to conditions, England's policy of a four-man attack means they cannot afford to carry any of their quicks especially with Graeme Swann proving ineffective as he sent down 52 wicketless overs, the most he had bowled in a Test innings. Since the start of the second day's play they have looked anything but the world's No. 1 team.news:> http://www.espncricinfo.com
