Mrs. Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuyien is a light hearted family drama of an elaborate joint middle class family and its strict and disciplinarian mother.
As the formidable matriarch of a joint Rajasthani family, she has rather ably held the reins of her household, made the most significant decisions in the lives of her husband, her five sons and four daughters-in-law.
The story begins with Mrs. Bindeshwari Kaushik's search for the fifth bahu for her youngest son. According to her, an ideal bahu is one who should be an amalgamation of the elements of nature (fire, water, air, space & earth) akin to the virtues represented by her other four loving, honest and obedient daughters-in-law.
Enter Lovely - a free-spirited, fun-loving, beautiful young girl who believes in making her own rules rather than following anybody else's. Lovely thinks it's perfectly acceptable to lie in order to help someone! Quick in her thinking, she can spin a yarn at the snap of a finger but her lies are harmless and never intended to hurt anybody's sentiments.
What ensues is a light-hearted family drama that follows Lovely's journey into Bindeshwari's heart despite their distinctly different approaches towards life.http://www.zeetv.com

PHIR SUBAH HOGI|INDIAN ZEE TV DRMA SERIAL REVIEW

Its the Story of 'Sugni', born in bedia tribe, young Sugani is also being made to realize that she is no exception and she will have to do the same what her mother has been doing so far-'Rai and prostitution' but since Sugni is a little literate and has got decent knowledge about the world outside her tribe, she knows about the life of other women who live their lives with pride, unlike a Bedni; those who are someone's daughter, someone's sister, and someone's lawful wife... those who reside in the 'Homes' and lead a life which is well protected by a roof of relations over their heads, unlike a Bedni who is meant to be the amusement for all the men of the vicinity. Sugni wants the same roof of relations for herself. She aspires to become a bride, desires to become a daughter-in-law, she wants to be a 'one man' woman instead of someone who belongs to all the men. No other Bedni has ever dared to dream of her own wedding instead of performing at others' weddings. But that's what Sugni dreams of-'getting married!'
This is not just a dream. Its Sugni's attempt to change the age old tradition, which the corrupt society will never let go off. The blossom of Sugni's youth has already become the talk of the town, she has become the new sensation and heart throb amongst the men. So many decent propositions for her 'Sardhakai' ( a ritual before she enters the trade), are already her way. And this is sufficient enough to encourage her mamas who find it difficult to manage the expenditure to the family with what their aging sister earns. They start making their own plans for a bright future but as Sugni's refusal to Rai and Sardhakai shifts the ground beneath them.
In her journey sugni will not only encounter the evil face of the man who becomes her 'owner' but she will also experience the love with young adityababu who inspite of belonging to the thakur clan showers her with respect and holds her diginity.
In this story we intend to tell the story of those who are marginalized due to the social deformities. Sugni's story represents the story of those who are neither demanding a ground nor a sky of their own, but the right to feel being human and to be proud of that, is all what they are asking for.
BACKDROP-
Bundelkand constitutes to the pride heritage of our country with the courageous tales and the colorful tradition of 'Bundelas'; but the same Bundelkhand, on the contrary sets an example of heinous human exploitation by a so called tradition of a tribal group called Bedia-the tradition of 'Rai dance'. The word 'Rai' is derived from 'Rasa' a dance performed by lord Krishna. As per the tradition 'Rai' was meant for pleasing the lord but later it deformed and became a medium of pleasing the devotees rather. With the course of time further more deformities took place and Rai dance became a part of general celebrations and social gathering finally getting victimized by human desires. Since the main occupation of Bedia tribe has been Rai dance, it gradually became insufficient for the livelihood of the entire family, therefore the Rai performers inevitably entered the flesh trade under constraint, for the sake of the bread and butter of their families. And this constraint later took the form of the tradition for them. Although flesh trade is not the stated occupation of the tribals of Bedia Tribe but the fact is that, today its their main occupation well covered behind the colors of Rai Dance. This is the reason why the word Bedni, meaning the women of Bedia tribe i.e. the Rai performers, is used as an epithet in the local language.
This is a story where a group of people, conspires against another group of people by limiting their right to live life normally. The story of a tradition which allows humans to treat other humans as animals, rather means of their own amusement. It is a story of those who lead a doomed life taking it as a punishment given by the almighty and think its nothing but their destiny to remain like this. It is also a story of those who use their entity, power and wealth to make other humans into their slaves, those who claim to be the representatives of the society and in fact shame the society itself. This story attempts to expose the truth of the tradition, which is relished by the civilized society as one of its high standards, and which actually shames the humanity.

Ennis leaps ahead|Olympic 2012 news

Sheffield star on course for gold with two events remaining

Britain's Jessica Ennis produced a leap of 6.48 metres in the long jump to retain her lead in the Olympic heptathlon.

Ennis has struggled with her run-up this season, committing seven fouls in 12 attempts during two competitions earlier this summer, and managed just 5.95m with her first attempt.

However, the 26-year-old then hit the board perfectly on her second attempt to soar out to 6.40m, just 11cm down on her personal best and worth 975 points.

She then went better with her final leap to leave her with a total of 5159 as Olympic champion Nataliya Dobrynska struggled. Russian challenger Tatyana Chernova produced the best jump with 6.54 metres to keep up the pressure on Ennis and slotted into third place in the overall competition with 4869 points with Austra Skujyte in second on 4901 points.

Britain's Louise Hazel and Katarina Johnson-Thompson leapt 5.17 and 6.19 respectively.

Ennis led by 184 points overnight with the long jump, javelin and 800m to come.

Ennis will hope she does not repeat the poor performance in the javelin that cost her gold in the World championships in Daegu.

The Sheffield athlete admitted she had amazed even herself after an excellent effort on day one at London 2012.

"I knew it was a fast track from the hurdles and I'm made up to run a PB in the 200m as well," said Ennis, whose hurdles time of 12.54 seconds was a British record and equalled the time which won individual gold in Beijing.

"I think coming into this I knew I was in good shape, but I couldn't imagine performing like this, I've definitely exceeded my expectations.

"It's been a bit up and down but two PBs is great. It's been amazing, the crowd have been unbelievable. They really do lift you. When you run round the bend you can hear the roar."

England v South Africa|Stuart Broad|Remarks 04.08.12

England paceman Stuart Broad says the second Test with South Africa is evenly poised after two days at Headingley.
The home side reached the close on 48-0 after South Africa were bowled out for 419, with Broad taking 3-96.
"It's pretty even," said the 26-year-old. "Being none down overnight was vital for us and the first hour on Saturday will be huge.
"We need to settle in and build and build as a big a total as possible, then try and put them under pressure."
Broad is part of a four-man England seam attack after the home side opted to omit off-spinner Graeme Swann.
However, it was the part-time spin of Kevin Pietersen that brought England their first wicket of the day, when Jacques Rudolph was stumped off a ball that turned sharply.
"Rudolph was unlucky because it was the only ball that turned all day," added Broad. "There were some raised eyebrows when that ball turned, but nothing after that to worry about.
"This wicket will get lower and that's where our four quick bowlers can come into their own."
Test Match Special analysis

Geoffrey Boycott
Ex-England batsman & TMS summariser
"I don't know why England played four seamers or why they bowled first, but they gave the initiative away and now it's nearly impossible for them to win the game. It's all about if England can save it or South Africa win it, but I think they will save it. The chances of England winning are very small. But Strauss came out and batted well tonight, playing some lovely shots."

Following their win in the first Test at The Kia Oval, South Africa can take the series and with it England's place at the top of the world rankings if they are successful at Headingley.
England invited the Proteas to bat after winning the toss in Leeds, but Broad said England were not worried by the total the visitors posted.
"There's always expectation when you win the toss and bowl but I don't think the wicket was dangerous to bat on," continued the Nottinghamshire man.
"When the sun is out, it's fantastic for batting but cloud cover provides encouragement for the bowlers.
"Our priority is to be patient with the bat and to go as big as we can."
South Africa were indebted to Alviro Petersen, who converted his first-day century into a Test best 182 before being caught behind off the bowling of Broad.
However, the opening batsman is to undergo a scan on a hamstring injury that could prevent him from batting in the second innings.
Assistant coach Russell Domingo said: "It would have been great to have got one or two wickets this evening, but I thought we bowled really well in the last five or six overs, so we're pretty happy with where we are at the moment.
"At the start of play yesterday, if someone had said you're going to be 419 all out we'd have taken it.
"If we can get a 100-run lead or anything like that it will be a big factor on this surface.
"We know that statistically Headingley is a 350-type wicket so we feel that we have a good score."

Social Media voices its support for #AgingParents
India is looked upon as a nation that truly reveres and respects its elders. It is probably the only country in the world where we always touch our elder's feet and seek blessings from them. The respectful attitude towards elders and the practice of more than one generation living together is considered as the hallmark of Indian culture. But in reality, today countless old people are shunned by their children, left penniless and homeless and have to depend on charity for a living.
